The first Friday of the month in Portland, Maine we celebrate First Friday Art Walk . It is a night of celebrating local art. It takes place on Congress Street which has become the new art district. The galleries are open with most of them offering wine and cheese. The restaurants run Art Walk specials and the street are crowded with vendors and performers. If you make it to Portland for a first Friday plan on attending. It takes place all year long. In the winter months dress warm.
