On our next to last day of our cruise we went to La Cocoa Falls located in El Yunque Rain Forest in Puerto Rico. I had not been up to El Yunque for 45 years. The rain forest has been developed by the park service since then and they have built a main visitor’s building near the base and several other areas for stopping. They have developed many trails which offer varying degrees of difficulty.
The first time my late wife and I drove to the top by ourselves in a rented car. Without a tour guide a must have missed the falls. This time we went in a van with other people and a very informative guide. The falls are inspiring even with a bunch of people standing around. The picture has been processed to lighten up for detail and color. If you visit La Coca Falls remember it is a rain forest with almost a daily rain fall. Some kind of rain gear is recommended.
